- Verbreitung: Ozeanien (Neuseeland)

- Bestand: stark gefährdet; ca. 35.000 Tiere

- Identifizierung/Beschreibung: Größe ca. 55 cm; Gewicht ♂ 1575-2250 g, ♀ 1950-3570 g; vergleichsweiße kurzer Schnabel ♂ 9,5 cm, ♀ 12,5 cm; Gefieder hauptsächlich braun mit leichter Streifung

- Bestand: stark gefährdet; ca. 375 Tiere; Population leicht zunehmend; Gefährdung durch Lebensraumverlust und eingeschleppte Prädatoren

- Verbreitung: Ozeanien (Neuseeland: Okarito-Wald an der Westküste der Südinsel)

- Biologie: Nahrungssuche einzeln oder paarweise; hauptsächlich nachtaktiv (evtl. Reaktion auf Mensch und Prädatoren)
